Father, I ask that you watch over our leaders today and all the days to come. They have accepted a responsibility that few would ever accept: the care for the souls of others.

I know the work is demanding, for I add my own hopes and prayers to those of so many others. I know the outward rewards are few, for our budgets, both material and spiritual are limited.

Yet they carry on, bright spots shining in the midst of dark humanity. Wherever possible, make their loads lighter; where that is not possible, make their shoulders strong.

Be with them throughout the long days and often sleepless nights and assure them that their work is never in vain and always toward the Kingdom Hope.

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
